Kreayshawn (White Girl Mob) - Gucci Gucci [Video]

One of our passions are multi-talented and functional individuals and Kreayshawn fits nicely into this. Not only is this chick from Northern California a Director, Cinematographer, Editor, DJ, Pixel Artist, but she also raps. Coming from a musical household where her mom was in a girl punk-surf fusion band and also a step dad who was a rapper/DJ. It only seemed the natural progression for Kreayshawn to end up in the music business.

Rapsody - Thank H.E.R Now Mixtape 21.06.11 [DOWNLOAD]

FREE DOWNLOAD

To many times I read on twitter there are no real female rappers and I think are you serious?..These people must be listening to commercial shit. They probably haven't heard of 9th Wonder's protege Rapsody, we know that with Rapsody working with 9th Wonder the production would be on point but would she be!

We think so, her flow and lyrics are sick. So we were excited to hear of her latest release. Her sophomore solo release, the Thank H.E.R. Now street album which dropped on Tuesday 21st June and follows up her 2010 album Return of the B-Girl. Check out Rapsody for yourself download the mix for FREE

Amy Winehouse!!! What's the Solution?

It saddens me that this situation is still continuing with Amy Winehouse. it beggars believe why she is still on tour, she is not ready to be an artist on tour and hasn't been for a long time. I wander why the label and her team continue to let this continue whether the reason's are money orientated we may never know.

In recent years we have had to watch the like's of Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears break down in front of us due to drug abuse.

So what's the solution??

VladTV's Top 40 Female Rappers

VladTV's caught up with Pete Rock and Camp Lo to discuss their top 40 Female Rappers list . Apparently this list caused a lot of heated discussions and comments. It's a touchy subject expecially with the recent female rappers beefs that has been going around!

I am suprised to see Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) on the list. And what about the likes of Eternia, Psalm One, Amanda Diva, and Invincible to name just a few...could go on lets not forget the Mc's in Europe, Australia and Asia.

What are you options on their comments and the actual list.

Would have been nice to have some women on the panal!

Born and raised in Queens, Dynasty (Diana Hardy) is what I call a proper emcee. Dynasty has been on the scene for a number of year's even though it has been some what in the background. She got her big break when she co-signed with DJ Premier who put her last single “Femcee” on his “On Tha Road Again” mixtape.

This was followed up by her next single “Epic Dynasty” which DJ Premier also placed on his compilation album, Get Used to Us.

Jill Scott f. Anthony Hamilton - "So In Love" [Video]

My two fav rnb/soul acts doing a collabo things just can't get better. So In Love is off her latest album The Light of the Sun (Released 21/06/11). This is what I call good music for grown folks.

And imagine someone had the cheek to say they don't like Jill's Scotts voice...I know people are entitled to their opinion but come on. She's looking hot too...go girl.

Shirin Neshat - Art in exile (via TedTalks)

via TEDTalks

I first came across the work of Iranian-born artist Shirin Neshat during the London Iranian Film Festival 2010, and I have been interested in her work since then. Recently Shirin has continued to push her work and experience as an artist in exile. In her work, she explores Iran pre- and post-Islamic Revolution, tracing political and societal change through powerful images of women.

Her latest project is an independent film titled Women Without Men. The story chronicles the intertwining lives of four Iranian women during the summer of 1953. During a recently TEDTalks session she tells of her life as a female artist, and artist in exile, the link of politics in her work.
