Janet Jackson on American Idol

Janet looked hot on American Idol the short wet look is growing on me but love it when her hair is styled. Makes me want to go short again.


Da Brat released from jail

Da Brat who wasn't due to be released until August 2011, was released from jail on probabtion after being sentenced in 2007 for hitting a waitress in the face with a bottle.

Da Brat is currently on work release where she will be working "making windows" doing her 9-5 thing. Now out Da Brat plans to get back to the studio and make music.

Itunes Festival London 2010

Itunes Festival 2010 returns again for another year of some great acts, the festival runs throughout the month of July for 31 days and promises up to 62 bands all performing at the Round House in Camden. Girl Germs present Wetdog + Peepholes. A Ladyfest Ten fundraiser.


Girl Germs have put together another excellent fund-raiser event with an exciting line for this years Ladyfestten special event being held later this year. This event will be held on Friday June 28th at The Victoria 110 Grove Road, London, E3 5TH.

Zine Fest @ The Women's Library 12/06/10 [UK]


The 3rd Zine Fest is being held at the Women's Library. Celebrating alternative world of self-made paper zines, there will be plenty of stalls, workshops and discussions centred around self publishing.

Rihanna - Rock Star 101 [video]

Rihanna's official video to Rock Star 101. The best part of the video is when she dresses up to look like Slash (former lead guitarist of rock band Guns N' Roses), well you can't get any rocker then that.

Overall video and track is ok not one of my fav's. As much as I love black and white videos I did prefer the video trailer which was shown in colour!

Ivor Novello 2010 Winners


The winners for The Ivors Award which were held at Grosvenor House Hotel today were announced and as many suspected Lilly Allen walked away with an award, that is at least 3 awards for PRS For Music Most Performed Work and Best Song Musically And Lyrically for her song 'The Fear'. As well as the Songwriters Of The Year award for her album 'It's Not Me It's You'.
 
I was most pleased to see Bat for Lashes win the Best Contemporary Song award for 'Daniel' and Imogen Heap walk away with the International Achievement award

As a massive Robyn fan I am very excitied to hear that not only does she have new material coming out but that she will also be live in the UK this summer. Robyn's upcoming album "Body Talk pt. 1",

The first single off the album is the Patrik Berger produced 'Dancing On My Own' (released same day as the album).  The album along with the first single will be released on 14th June 2010 and is is available from all good record stores.
 Robyn will be live on June 17th at Heaven Club (London) and she will also be performing at V Festival this August for full tour dates click here

Beyoncé - Why Dont You Love Me [Full Video]


Beyonce releases the full version of her next single 'Why Don't You Love Me'. The video was co penned by her sister Solange, and shows Beyonce as  an unloved 50s housewife going by the name of "B. B. Homemaker", through the video Beyonce is smoking, crying, shaking her arse as she does the housewife duties at the same time asking why he doesn't love her. The video reminds of Desperate House Wifes meets Mad Men with her 50s inspired look and as always Beyonce is looking smokin in the video.

2010 Ivor Novello Award Nominations


 This years nominees for the Ivor Novellos include Lily Allen who has been nominated in two categories for the songwriting awards. La Roux, Bat For Lashes, as well as Dizzi, and Paolo Nutini and also a number of 'you haven't heard of them (yet) bands'. The awards will be held on 20th May at Grosvenor House in London.
