(FDC) Young Designer Awards has been running for a number of years now and in that time they have discover some gems of young fashion designers who have been given some amazing opportunities to showcase their collection to an international audience.

And this year is no exception. London’s Fashion Designers and Craft makers (FDC) 2012 Young Designer Awards and Monte-Carlo JEANSATION 2 competition will give young fashion talent an opportunity of a life time. So if you are a budding aspiring young designer this could be for you.

Women In Music - Elle Magazine

I really enjoyed the photos from Elle's Magazine’s (USA) Women in Music issue which honoured the women in music 2011. The issues featured the likes of Adele who talks about her new album and her ex love, Nicki Minaj taking about rapping, Robyn talking about working on her latest album Body Rock, Florence Welch on performing at the 2010 MTV Music Video Awards plus many more.

Yoru- Batik Designs [Interview]

We caught up with one of our favourite designers for this summer Christina Oshunniyi the young lady behind the vibrate and exciting collection and designs from Yoru-Batik. The label originally started as a one woman venture, that was until a voluntary trip to Ghana (Koforidua) gave her the opportunity to work with women living with  HIV/AIDS. Since launching a year ago Christina has been going from strength to strength and gaining many followers and buyers for her ethical Africa print and multi-wear harem outfits.
